Obituary for Sr. Stephanie Wilson, OSU

Sister Stephanie Wilson, (Janet), died peacefully at Andrus on Hudson, Hastings on Hudson on March 29, 2017. Born in the Bronx, New York, Sister Stephanie was the youngest child of Mary and John Wilson. She received her early education in the Bronx, and graduated from Sacred Heart Academy in Stamford, Ct. Stephanie received her BA from the College of New Rochelle, an MA from Catholic University and an MBAfrom Iona.

During her 60 years as an Ursuline Sister, Stephanie served in many capacities  as well as many places.   She taught in the Bronx, New Rochelle, Bethesda, MD. and Wilmington, DE. She was the Provincial Treasurer for the Eastern Province, Director of Deferred Giving for Catholic Relief Services, Financial Vice President and Payroll Accountant for Bethlehem University, Business Manager and CFO for Sacred Heart Village, Wilmington and in various positions for the Ministry of Caring in  Wilmington. In addition, Sister Stephanie served in Rome, Italy, Bethlehem, Israel and Santa Rosa, CA. Stephanie was a member of several Boards including, CNR, Ursuline School, Academy of Mount St. Ursula, Ursuline Academy, Wilmington, the  Leviticus Fund and the Conference of Religious Treasurers, Region II.

Sister Stephanie is survived by her nieces, Mary Moore, Lisa Auler and Janet Lucas and her nephew, Carey. She is predeceased by her parents, Mary and John, her brother, John and his wife Elizabeth, their son, John and her sister, Jean and husband, Ted.

Visiting will be at the Ursuline Province Center, 1338 North Avenue, New Rochelle, NY 10804 on Sunday, April 2, 2017, 2-5 PM with a prayer service at 4:00PM. Mass of Christian Burial will  be celebrated at the Center by Father Ronald Giannone, OFM, Cap. on Monday, April 3rd  at the Province

Center at 11: 00 AM. Burial will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, New Rochelle. In lieu of flowers, the community requests that donations made in Sr. Stephanie’s name be sent to the Ursuline Sisters Retirement Fund at the above address.
