Sr. Joan McCarthy, OSU entered the Ursuline Order in 1947 and made her first profession in 1950. She taught at The Ursuline School in New Rochelle, NY, from 1957 to 1970 taking one year off in 1962 for her tertianship in Rome. She also taught at various elementary schools in the Bronx such as Blessed Sacrament, St. Jerome’s and St Philip Neri. She served as the Superior at the Provincialate at North Avenue in New Rochelle from 1970 – 1974. From 1994 until she retired in 2010 she worked at the Hugh A. Doyle Center as the Receptionist for the Office of the Aging for the City of New Rochelle.
