THE ADULT LEARNING CENTER TO CELEBRATE 17th ANNIVERSARY
On April 3rd, the 17th Annual Gala Benefit Dinner will be celebrated at The Fountainhead in New Rochelle. The Adult Learning Center is a non-profit, volunteer based mission formed in 1997 by a group of Ursuline sisters. It was created to increase the economic and social empowerment of immigrants with low to moderate income through literacy education, citizenship preparation and training in basic job skills.
The Spirit of St. Angela award will be presented to Jewelle Prieto of the Don Coqui Restaurant Group and Stephen J. Trauzzi, M.D., F.A.C.S. The 2014 Volunteer in the Spotlight is Angela E. Picardo.
In addition to the wonderful program, the event will include entertainment and dancing provided by the Villalobos Brothers (who play everything from classical to jazz, contemporary and dance music) as well as a raffle. Funds raised at the event will help achieve the Center’s mission to empower, improve and transform the lives of an underserved segment of lower Westchester’s population.
