SISTER MARY LARKIN, 1931 – 2013

Sister Mary Larkin, OSU, died peacefully at Calvary Hospital on October 21, 2013.

Born in the Bronx on November 9, 1931, she was the daughter of Catherine and Michael Larkin. She entered the Ursuline Sisters in 1950 and made her First Profession of Vows in 1953.

During her 60 years as an Ursuline, Sr. Mary was a teacher at Parochial schools in the Bronx, Westchester, Franklin, and Orange Counties. When she retired from teaching, Sr. Mary worked in several parishes as a Pastoral Associate both in New York and New Jersey, and then as a volunteer chaplain at Phelps Memorial Hospital.

She is predeceased by her parents Catherine and Michael, and her sister, Kathleen. Sister Mary is survived by a niece and a nephew.

A memorial Mass will be celebrated at the Ursuline Province Center, 1338 North Ave. New Rochelle, NY on November 4 at 4:00 PM
