The Ursuline Global Mission
The Ursuline Sisters of the Eastern Province are part of an international family of Ursulines known as the Ursulines of the Roman Union – a global community moving into the future and moving into new life. We support the missions of our Ursuline Sisters worldwide.
From its founding in 1535 by Saint Angela Merici, the Ursuline Global Network has spread from a tiny seed in Brescia to over 30 countries across Africa, the Americas, Asia, Europe, and Oceania. As it has for centuries, this network connects Sisters, students, faculty/staff, alumni, and other community members though the Ursuline heritage, mission, and values. Transcending geographical and cultural borders, the network continues to expand with the development of new Ursuline schools and communities underway due to the gracious work and dedication of the Ursuline Sisters around the world.
The Mother of Peace Primary School in Battambang, Cambodia and the St. Angele D’Afrique for Saint Angela School in Bamyanga, Ngaoundere, Cameroon are just two of the ministries within the Ursuline Global Mission.

Saint Angela’s School in Cameroon
Founded in 1993 by an Ursuline nun, Saint Angela’s School in Bamyanga, Ngaoundere, Cameroon, provides underprivileged children with a quality Catholic education rooted in faith, knowledge, and respect.
With 700 students and 16 dedicated teachers, the school once relied on Italian benefactors for funding. However, with that support no longer available, Saint Angela’s faces a critical need for financial assistance.
In response, the Ursuline Sisters of the Eastern Province have stepped in at the request of the Ursuline Roman Union’s General Council. Their commitment ensures that students receive scholarships and teachers gain essential training—helping to sustain and strengthen this vital educational mission.
The Ursuline Global Cookbook & The Mother of Peace School
The Ursuline Academy in Wilmington, DE, was awarded the 2023-24 Moulton Grant for Global Citizenship by the International Coalition of Girls’ Schools (ICGS) for its collaborative project with St. Ursula College Kingsgrove in Sydney, Australia. This prestigious grant honors initiatives that expand opportunities for women and girls worldwide.
In partnership with the Ursuline Sisters of the Asia Pacific, the schools used the grant to establish a community kitchen at the Mother of Peace School in Battambang, Cambodia. This initiative empowers village women by providing a space to utilize their culinary skills, prepare nutritious meals for their families, and create sustainable economic opportunities. By gaining financial independence, these women also strengthen their community support networks.

Founded in 2010 by the Asia-Pacific Inter-Provincial Community, the Mother of Peace Primary School serves nearly 500 students from kindergarten through sixth grade. It also includes an adult learning center, ensuring education for all generations.
To celebrate this initiative and honor the Cambodian women’s contributions, the Ursuline Academy created the Ursuline Global Cookbook—a collection of recipes shared by Ursuline community members from 25 countries. Available for purchase in the U.S. and Australia, proceeds from the cookbook directly support this life-changing program. Click Here to purchase a copy of the Ursuline Global Cookbook
